Here comes KIRA!

Kira can be seen from afar by her long scarlet colored scarf – so the koalas sometimes call her the “Red Kira”. In her spacious pouch she keeps everyday things and her impressive collection of antique cushion springs – and of course her baby kangaroo feels most at home here. After a furious victory in the shadow boxing championship, the two prepare themselves for the world championship in long-jump.

Kira is approximately 10,5 inches tall. She is made out of cosy 4 ply tweed, cotton wool and love. For your little kangaroo you can use every yarn you prefer – she’s getting taller or smaller but she’s always really cute!

I wrote this crochet pattern for beginners too and I tried to be very detailed in my descriptions. I also included some charts to explain what to do.

Here comes Dirk!

DIRK’s favorite outfit is his green dragon costume with that tiny wings and dragon spikes. His mother was a Japanese water dragon, his father was a brave dinosaur – a Tyrannosaurus Rex! One hour a day he practices fire-breathing in his cave – small fireballs work out very well. If he sneezes, he accidentally sprayed some sparks. Dirk collects matches and is going to be a firefighter when he grows up.

Mermaid Tail Lapghan Blanket for Ages 2 thru 16 Knitting Pattern

HONESTLY! Mermaids have taken over my life! Grandmothers all over the world are asking about enlarging my newborn photo prop pattern, to fit much bigger girls. As you can see from the big pile of yarn and papers in my living room….well, need I say more?

This pattern has two options: for knitting in the round AND also for making it as a lap blanket! See the lavender photo for a sneak peak at the blanket. Sorry for the horrendous quality of the process photos. (Yes, that fin is not even the same color as the rest of the tail. Yikes! It’s wrong side up, too.) I have left the newborn photos here as two of the secondary pictures, to give an idea of a finished in-the-round version.

This “scales” stitch pattern is just perfect, and I can’t emphasize enough how easy this stitch is to create. A REALLY fun project! All you will need is several skeins of Caron Simply Soft yarn ($3.00 or so at WalMart!) and your needles.

Only the newborn size is given, but this pattern would be easy to adapt to larger sizes, and the pattern mentions how. I’ll help with that, if needed.

You may use either bulky yarn or 2 strands of worsted medium yarn. It’s hard to tell, but the pink one is the chunky yarn, and the cream one is made with worsted.

Easy enough for beginners! You knit this back and forth.

Here comes KIRA!

Kira can be seen from afar by her long scarlet colored scarf – so the koalas sometimes call her the “Red Kira”. In her spacious pouch she keeps everyday things and her impressive collection of antique cushion springs – and of course her baby kangaroo feels most at home here. After a furious victory in the shadow boxing championship, the two prepare themselves for the world championship in long-jump.

Kira is approximately 10,5 inches tall. She is made out of cosy 4 ply tweed, cotton wool and love. For your little kangaroo you can use every yarn you prefer – she’s getting taller or smaller but she’s always really cute!

I wrote this crochet pattern for beginners too and I tried to be very detailed in my descriptions. I also included some charts to explain what to do.

Mermaid Tail Lapghan Blanket for Ages 2 thru 16 Knitting Pattern

HONESTLY! Mermaids have taken over my life! Grandmothers all over the world are asking about enlarging my newborn photo prop pattern, to fit much bigger girls. As you can see from the big pile of yarn and papers in my living room….well, need I say more?

This pattern has two options: for knitting in the round AND also for making it as a lap blanket! See the lavender photo for a sneak peak at the blanket. Sorry for the horrendous quality of the process photos. (Yes, that fin is not even the same color as the rest of the tail. Yikes! It’s wrong side up, too.) I have left the newborn photos here as two of the secondary pictures, to give an idea of a finished in-the-round version.

This “scales” stitch pattern is just perfect, and I can’t emphasize enough how easy this stitch is to create. A REALLY fun project! All you will need is several skeins of Caron Simply Soft yarn ($3.00 or so at WalMart!) and your needles.
